An earlier mention and praise for analytical and synthetic thinking can be found in Galen’s The Diagnosis and Cure of the Soul’s Errors. Galen describes analytical and synthetical reasoning using an example of building a sundial and water clock. Business and Economics Business and finance employers look for people who can group elements of a task and reintroduce sections as a coherent singular component that can be more easily accomplished in order to move through a complete task little by little. Analytic reasoning is used by businesses to asses the patterns of change in their market, employees ideally being able to recognize this statistic through raw data. Basically, having good analytic reasoning the ability to recognize trends and patterns after considering data.
