[edit]Is this article still a stub? I'm curious as to what length and depth of information an article has to reach before it can be officially de-stubbed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The Great and Powerful Illyria (talk • contribs) 05:00, 28 January 2005.
- It's not a matter of word count, it's a matter of how completely the subject has been covered. Something little more than a dictionary definition is definitely a stub. Something with obvious holes or which seems incompletely written is a stub. There is no hard objective definition; it's a matter of perception. Canonblack 13:00, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
As herself?? Some kind of joke? Acker does not play "herself" in season five of Angel.
- Those credits are for featurettes on the Angel DVDs, in which she does indeed play herself. --Bacteria 02:13, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Spoilers
[edit]Don't you think that having the picture of Amy Acker as Illyria on the front page is a bit of a spoiler? --King Bee 16:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- I would say it is NOT a spoiler, since...how would you know what Illyria is before you see her on the show? It all happens in one episode. for someone just seeing that picture for the first time, they would have no idea what to think. SnaX 01:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Ancestry
[edit]Is she German-Jewish or German on her paternal side? Acker clearly is a German surname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.94.186.41 (talk) 00:27, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Her ancestry is traced here and here. Her patrilineal line goes back to a Peter Acker, who was born in either Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, or in Germany, c. 1728, to John William Acker and Anna Dirdoff, who were German immigrants. So she has some distant German ancestry (and she isn't of Jewish heritage). All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 07:35, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
Vile
[edit]Why is that movie listed in her filmography? She isn't mentioned neither on the Wikipedia page for the movie nor on IMDb. Kumagoro-42 18:10, 7 December 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kumagoro-42 (talk • contribs)

Special Unit 2 -- Credit Verification Issue
[edit]I am questioning the credit for Special Unit 2 (2001) that is listed in her filmography.
I watched the episode multiple times and was unable to find her anywhere.
A link to the episode can be found here to verify my supposition:
https://archive.org/details/Special_Unit_2_S02E04_The_Invisible
It is not listed on her official website: (https://amyacker.com)
And on https://amyacker.org, a comprehensive documentation site for images of Amy Acker, it lists the credit on her homepage but has zero images despite their thorough coverage of all her other roles.
IMDB does list her as "Nancy" in the episode 2x04 "The Invisible". However, there is no further information on the character on IMDB.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0706573/characters/nm0009918/?ref_=tt_cst_c_6
I plan to check that there is a Nancy character at all and to determine who plays that character.
Through interviews I was aware that she had moved from Texas to Los Angeles. and was cast for a guest star role on the last episodes of Angel S2. She became main cast on Angel for S3 with the first episode of Angel S3 airing in 09/24/2001. The episode of "Special Unit 2" aired on 10/21/2001 respectively.
According to Wikipedia it was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia; and Chicago, Illinois.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Unit_2
According to Variety, "Filmed in Los Angeles by Rego Park Film & Television in association with Paramount Network Television."
https://variety.com/2001/tv/reviews/special-unit-2-1200467780/
The conflicting filming locations make it difficult to assess the logistics of whether she could have appeared in the episode while filming Angel in Los Angeles.
This has been repeatedly echoed through countless sites, I would assume by referencing IMDB's filmography of Amy Acker.
Because of all of this, I would recommend that the credit be removed. Bismuth43 (talk) 01:01, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Discussion of Best Lead Image for Page.
[edit]@Emiya1980: Rather than continuing to revert, I was thinking we might be able to find an image that neither of us have issues with. My image has issues with cropping and a reduction in profile visibility. I take issue with your preference for lead image in that it’s cropped from a group photo already on the page. I figure taking the image on her IMDB from the SXSW Much Ado photoshoot in 2012 would be a bit redundant, but I'm open to options that qualify for fair use or creative commons. Bismuth43 (talk) 00:22, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- Assuming it provides a full view of her profile, I have no objection to using her image on IMDB. Emiya1980 (talk) 00:33, 27 February 2026 (UTC)
- The IMDB image is apparently from Getty Images which means it does not apply for fair use. I'll look for a decent alternative image. Any ideas you would put forward? Bismuth43 (talk) 12:00, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
