library/tight wind for safest master storage
[edit]ATR machines were first 2-tracks I've used with tight-wind aka library-wind mode. (maybe Play + FF button to start?) Perplexity: "Library wind" refers to a mode where the tape is wound quickly but evenly and tightly onto the reel, ensuring flat, consistent packing to prevent edge damage or playback issues later. It's particularly useful for tape storage. Doug Grinbergs (talk) 05:55, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
- was library-wind part of SPARS Society of Professional Audio Recording Services best-practices for master tape storage? if not, it should have been Doug Grinbergs (talk) 05:58, 4 June 2025 (UTC)
