extinct?

@Chihunglu83: As someone who lives in East Kalimantan (but definitely not in Kenohan), I can guarantee Ampanang is most likely extinct, since it has been displaced by Upper (Kota Bangun) variety of the Kutainese language for a long time as early as 1900s. The linguistic map of East Kalimantan produced by Kemendikdasmen no longer lists Ampanang as one of the local languages spoken in the province. As previously explained on this article, with an extremely short word list, only less than 20 words have been attested, and this means that its reconstruction can be more difficult. Even if this language survived, most of the sources available online are either some multiple-choice question or online copies from Joshua Project (honestly, that's oddly specific). ❡ DDG9912 • discuter 14:55, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
