New section about Resource Recovery System
[edit]I think Ames' Resource Recovery System (the city's garbage-burning facility) is a sufficiently notable item to include under infrastructure, given that it was the first in the nation to open and reduces the city's natural gas dependency. Anybody agree? Twedt (talk) 19:58, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- I completely agree with including something about Ames's power plant. Its entirely unique, because the city actually burns most of its trash for power, replacing an earlier coal or oil plant in the late 1970's or early 80's or so (I don't really remember when, but I think there is an article about it in the NY times archives I remember reading a few years ago).
