Hello, this article is about a notable female singer. She became famous in the 1960s. If there has been a gender transition in her life (just assumed here for the sake of conversation), then that must have happened before she became notable. Following the rules, rumours about a gender transition, a previous male identity, male name etc. should be deleted from the article. This concerns mostly, but not only, the section "Gender identity". No, because there were and are too many contemporary witnesses who still knew Amanda when she did her gender reassignment surgery. What you want would mean to label these contemporary witnesses as liars and that would also be legally critical. Amanda also came out herself at the time to push her career. The fact that she denied everything afterwards is due to her inferiority complex. Just delete the section. No serious sources. La Stampa uses fantasy in this case. Novella 2000 at times claims ther are 3 headed people. It is a joke source. The other sources are not any better. Well, my knee jerk reaction is to support removal of crap that's unreliably sourced. But that sole source is not the only one to discuss it. When third-party reliable sources discuss it to the point of WP:DUEWEIGHT, it gets included. See Imane Khelif for another subject whose gender/biosex touch directly on notability and career. If this subject were a politician, writer, or scientist, it might matter a great deal less. But womanhood is a big part of this subject's biographical significance. Nuances on her womanhood appear reasonable to an uncertain extent. Let's resolve the uncertainty by finding the metes and bounds there. JFHJr (㊟) 22:22, 6 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
