merge of Navitaire

[edit]

This small ravel service company is not independently notable , but it could be mentioned here., DGG ( talk ) 22:45, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Oppose, on the grounds that references support independent notablity and a that merge would unbalance this page. Klbrain (talk) 12:14, 21 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Edit request: update employee count and key sites / regional offices

[edit]

Hi editors, I’m requesting this change via the Talk page in line with WP:COI and WP:PAID.

I’m a PR professional and Amadeus IT Group is a paying client, so I’m not editing the article directly. I’m proposing a factual update supported by sources.

Requested change: In the paragraph beginning “Amadeus has central sites in…”, please update the office/site wording to reflect the company’s current published locations and employee figure.

Proposed text to replace: "Amadeus has central sites in Madrid, Spain (corporate headquarters and marketing), Sophia Antipolis, France (product development), London, UK (product development), Breda, Netherlands (development), Erding, Germany (Data center) and Bangalore, India (product development) as well as regional offices in Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Miami, Istanbul, Singapore, and Sydney.[10][11] At market level, Amadeus maintains customer operations through 173 local Amadeus Commercial Organisations (ACOs) covering 195 countries. The Amadeus group employs 21,500 employees worldwide,[12] and listed in Forbes' list of "The World's Largest Public Companies" as No. 985.[13]"

Proposed replacement text: “Amadeus employs 21,500 people, with two-thirds[1] employed at 14 key sites, including the corporate headquarters in Madrid (Spain), the Erding (Germany) data center[2], an engineering hub in Bengaluru (India)[3], and a product development site in London (United Kingdom). There are regional offices at: Bad Homburg (Germany), Bangkok (Thailand), Manila (Philippines), Miami and Portsmouth (United States), Nice and Paris (France), San José (Costa Rica), Singapore, and Sydney (Australia).[4]”

Reason: The current list of “central sites” and “regional offices” appears outdated and incomplete compared to current published company information.

(Where country names are linked, those would remain as standard Wikipedia links.)

Thanks very much for reviewing this request.

Where cities (e.g. Dubai, Istanbul) are removed from your list it would be better to keep them and add a closure date (if one can be sourced) or simply label them as closed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:41, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Andy, thanks for the feedback - that's a really helpful point. I'll look into closure dates for those locations and come back with sourced information where I can find it. It's possible some closures weren't widely reported so published sources may be limited, but I'll do my best. DJMCwiki (talk) 14:50, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not done not an improvement and all primary sourced. Theroadislong (talk) 16:35, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Appalling sources

[edit]

More than half of the references in this article are primary sources or press releases. Wikipedia requires independent sources, we have little interest in what the company sdays about itself. Theroadislong (talk) 16:42, 13 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Revised COI edit request: employee count and office locations

[edit]

@Pigsonthewing: Andy, thank you for your comments on the earlier request about retaining locations unless there is evidence that they have closed. Following your feedback and the subsequent concerns about sourcing, I have revised both the text and sources.

As before, I am declaring my conflict of interest and submitting the proposed wording here for independent review. I will not edit the article directly.

The revised wording retains the locations named in the existing paragraph and updates their descriptions only where the cited sources support a change. It also adds Irving, in the Dallas area. External publications and property or certification records support most of the locations. Amadeus’s consolidated accounts are used only for straightforward subsidiary and registered-office information.

The proposed replacement for the office-location and employee-count section is:

“Amadeus is headquartered in Madrid, Spain.[1] The group had 20,424 employees as of June 30, 2026.[2] Its operations include a research and development center in Sophia Antipolis, France,[3] an engineering center in Bengaluru, India,[4] and a research and development center in Istanbul, Turkey.[5] Other sites include London Heathrow, Bad Homburg, Erding, Irving, in the Dallas area,[6][7] and Miami.[8] The group also has subsidiaries with registered offices in Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, and Breda, Netherlands.[9]”

The reference numbers below are for reviewing this proposal. Wikipedia will assign the final numbers if the edit is incorporated.

Sources:

  1. Forbes: Amadeus IT Group company profile. Supports the Madrid headquarters.
  2. Stock Analysis: Amadeus IT Group employee history. Records 20,424 employees on June 30, 2026.
  3. City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins: “Amadeus décolle en terre sophipolitaine,” March 25, 2025. Supports the Sophia Antipolis research and development center.
  4. The Economic Times: “Amadeus looks to hire tech talent, expand operations in India,” February 23, 2023. Supports the Bengaluru engineering center.
  5. Anadolu Agency: “Spanish travel tech giant opens R&D center in Istanbul,” July 19, 2024. Reports the Istanbul center’s opening.
  6. CompStak: One Twenty Five, 125 East John Carpenter Freeway. Lists Amadeus and Amadeus North America among the building’s tenants and identifies the property as being in Irving within the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
  7. CityFeet: 125 East John Carpenter Freeway, Irving. Lists Amadeus among the building’s major tenants.
  8. BSI: Amadeus certification directory, certificate IS 620198. Select “Related Sites” below the certificate dates to expand the address list, which includes Heathrow, Bad Homburg, Erding, and Miami.
  9. CNMV: Amadeus annual financial reports, consolidated annual accounts for 2025, appendix. The subsidiary entries identify registered offices in Bangkok, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, and Breda. A readable copy is available on FinancialFilings.

The consolidated accounts are a primary source and are used only for straightforward subsidiary details. BSI is an external certification record, while CompStak and CityFeet support the Irving office location. The research and development locations are supported by news reporting and a municipal publication.

Would you be willing to review whether this revised wording addresses your earlier concern? Comments from other independent editors are also welcome.

I have other pressures on my time, so I will leave this for someone else to review. I will note though, for their convenience, that WP:PRIMARY says:

A primary source may be used on Wikipedia ... to make straightforward, descriptive statements of facts that can be verified by any educated person with access to the primary source but without further, specialized knowledge

Thanks, Andy. Understood. And thank you for clarifying the appropriate use of primary sources for straightforward factual details. DJMCwiki (talk) 12:34, 21 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Theroadislong: Given your previous edits to this article, would you be willing to review the proposed changes above when you have time? Feedback on the proposed wording and sources would be appreciated if it still isn't quite right. Thanks. DJMCwiki (talk) 12:15, 28 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
