Proposal: All Alviniconcha species in one article

[edit]

Since the formerly monotypic A. hessleri has been split into several cryptic species based on genetics but indistinguishable by morphology (see Johnson et al, 2014), I believe it would be prudent to describe all species in one article, giving a general overview of morphology, with subsections exploring individual species' range or other instances where they may differ. Otherwise there would be many largely redundant stubs that obscure comprehensive treatment, and no general reader would care about the specific mitochondrial DNA differences that delineate species. --Animalparty-- (talk) 19:45, 13 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Given the encouraging feedback at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Gastropods#Proposal: all Alviniconcha species in one article, I've gone ahead and completed the merge, making all binomials redirects. --Animalparty-- (talk) 00:53, 27 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
