Is this the same town as Al Por?

[edit]

Is this the same town that a few years ago was called on Google Maps Al Por, a town also listed in Wikipedia where it said it had cave paintings? Now the very short article makes no reference to other names or cave paintings. I understand that Al Por would be the Arabic version, but why would the name in use have changed? Is it the same town which the atlas in an American library in 1962 called Alper? That seems likely. It had a population in 1962 of about 100. I'd like to visit but it's far away from me. The cave paintings would have made a trip worth while. Accuracy33 (talk) 06:43, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
