Stock Symbol

The infobox says that the stock symbol is ALD. When AlliedSignal purchased Honeywell, they took on the Honeywell name AND stock symbol HON. There is no present stock on the NYSE with the symbol ALD. Is there some way to capture this in the infobox? It seems important to me because, technically, AlliedSignal is not defunct - they just changed their name to Honeywell. Point is valid, but there are hundreds if not thousands of companies with depreciated stock symbols in the world. This should indeed be part of the info box, or documented in the article (our duty), but then it must be defined how many generations back. I guess once at stock market, there are only 2-3 generations of M&A; with non-stock market listed (LTD, LLC, etc.) there could be up to 10 cycles of M&A, and that is beyond the scope of Wikipedia, i.e., documenting small-medium companies with less than 10 years history etc. To clarify: Honeywell HQ is in Charlotte, NC. Honeywell Acquisition

Sounds a bit too advertise-y. "Final triumphant move to cap off a long career" doesn't sound very NPOV to me. --FeldBum (talk) 19:17, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

Although Honeywell was the acquired company, the combined company took on its name and identity. As a result, AlliedSignal is really Honeywell today. Wondering if these 2 articles should be merged and reorganized somehow. - Indefensible (talk) 05:20, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
