Edit request: factual corrections and two additional reviews (COI)

[edit]

Disclosure: I have a COI (I co-authored the 6th edition of Designing Brand Identity), so I'm suggesting these rather than editing directly. Thanks to everyone who built this out. Each item below is in "change X to Y" form.

1. Lead — authorship. Change: She was the co-founder of a graphic design firm and co-author of the books Designing Brand Identity (2003) and Brand Atlas: Branding Intelligence Made Visible (2011). to: She was the co-founder of a graphic design firm, the author of Designing Brand Identity (2003), and co-author of Brand Atlas: Branding Intelligence Made Visible (2011). Reason: Wheeler was sole author of Designing Brand Identity through its first five editions (2003–2018); a co-author was added only for the sixth edition (2024). Brand Atlas was co-authored with Joel Katz.

2. Body — first-edition subtitle. Change: In 2003, she released the book Designing Brand Identity: A Comprehensive Guide to the World of Brands and Branding. to: In 2003, she released the book Designing Brand Identity: A Complete Guide to Creating, Building, and Maintaining Strong Brands. Reason: The "Comprehensive Guide to the World of Brands and Branding" subtitle is the 2024 sixth edition's; the 2003 subtitle appears in the Casey/JAMS citation title already in the article.

3. Critical reception — add two reviews. After the paragraph beginning "D K Holland writing in Communication Arts…", add: In a review of the fourth edition for Choice, N. A. Govoni praised the book as a comprehensive guide to building a brand identity and rated it "Highly recommended".<ref>{{cite journal |last=Govoni |first=N. A. |title=Designing Brand Identity |journal=Choice |volume=50 |issue=9 |date=May 2013 |page=1676}}</ref> Writing in Communication Management Review, Ivan Biošić called the book comprehensive and enlightening, noting its more than 100 branding diagrams and over 400 quotes from industry experts.<ref>{{cite journal |last=Biošić |first=Ivan |title=Designing Brand Identity |journal=Communication Management Review |volume=3 |issue=2 |year=2018 |pages=115–117 |url=https://hrcak.srce.hr/216831}}</ref>

4. Reference 5 (JAMS) — author name. In the citation, change |last=Clayton |first=Russell C. to |last=Casey |first=Russell. Reason: the review is bylined Russell Casey of Clayton State University; "Clayton" is the university, not his surname.

5. American English (optional). Change Awards and honours to Awards and honors, and the board of the national organisation to the board of the national organization, matching the American-English "honor" already used in the article per WP:TIES.

I can provide PDFs of the Choice and Communication Management Review reviews; the Biošić review is also free at https://hrcak.srce.hr/216831. RobMeyerson (talk) 16:01, 1 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
