Some recent articles hyphenate Alice Comyns Carr's surname to 'Comyns-Carr'. For this article, I have stayed with the unhyphenated version of the surname, not only because that was clearly her own preference, per the author name on her 1925 book of reminiscences, but also because it matches the spelling of her husband's surname (J. The date in this sentence can't be right, and if I can find the right date quickly, I'll fix it myself, but wanted you to know. Anyhow, here's the sentence: "Carr wrote an analysis of fashion in 1850 for The Woman's World magazine after Oscar Wilde took over the editorship." Guessing (before I look it up) that it should be 1887?
I didn't see quickly when Comyns Carr published her article, so I changed the sentence to refer to when Wilde took over the editorship and changed the name of the magazine to The Women's World. Scogdill (talk) 20:09, 6 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
