One of my references from the Toronto Star says that Alfred Kidney performed in Scotland and Ireland before coming to Toronto. I found an article on the British Newspaper Archive on Thursday 09 March 1911, in the Dundee Courier, Angus, Scotland, about an Alfred Kidney who was a soloist. However, I don't have a subscription to this archive, and couldn't read enough of the article to see whether it was the same person. I'll try. I probably can't do it that soon, though - I just got given the music for our next concert. I'm chorus, but it's still a half inch thick, our music director has very high standards, and I haven't done some of it in years.
