Not known to CWGC?

I have looked up the cricketer in the CWGC website but no plain Alfred Hartleys occur who died in 1918. This suggests either that he is a candidate for belated commemoration if he was in the British Commonwealth forces, which can be sought via the In From The Cold Project (accessible online) or that - considering he was born in Louisiana - he was serving in the U.S. forces, who have a separate war graves agency, who by that stage were engaged in WWI on the Western Front. Found answer to my own question. This page from the Lancashire Cricket Club archive indicates he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery (of the British Army), and that he is buried in Vadencourt British Cemetery which must be a CWGC cemetery - but his names still does not google up on the CWGC website intriguingly.Cloptonson (talk) 14:59, 6 May 2023 (UTC)

I have found he IS listed by the CWGC but simply as Lieutenant A. Hartley, the service details, date of death and burial place correspond.Cloptonson (talk) 15:50, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
