Unsourced
[edit]This (below) doesn't seem to be in any sources that I can find, but I could be missing something. I've removed the content for now pending sources. And anybody know where this comes from. Neville Beckley seems to have been a minister. Alfred doesn't seem to have been a physician, and no source that I see describes him as a philanthropist.(olive (talk) 15:26, 3 June 2013 (UTC))
"He was also a physician, Methodist preacher, and philanthropist."
- It's around, I'll need to find the sources. Can't recall how good they are at the moment. PumpkinSky talk 15:42, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
- Just found Methodist preacher so I'll readd with the source.(olive (talk) 16:00, 3 June 2013 (UTC))
- and feel free to revert any changes you don't like....Not attached.(olive (talk) 16:02, 3 June 2013 (UTC))
Physician, Methodist preacher, philanthropist
[edit]I removed the sentence "He was also a physician, Methodist preacher, and philanthropist." I believe the only source for this information was the findagrave page for Gen. Beckley, which had the exact same sentence, and I do not know whether Wikipedia took the information from findagrave or vice versa. I persuaded findagrave to remove the sentence. Gen. Beckley's autobiography does not mention him being a physician or a preacher or a philanthropist. See my web page on Gen. Beckley, which includes his autobiography.
