World Record
[edit]Hello Wikipedians
After an article in a Cycling journal in Switzerland I was looking at the records of Alfonsina Strada in de.wikipedia, and found inconsistencies (Record in 1911 more km than record in 1938). So I grabbed deeper and was consternated. First I thought the record in 1911 was just about velocity. But then I found this site, which explains all the sources available today: TL;DR there is no credible source, that there has been a record in 1911 (all we have is a letter to a journal by her manager years later), and the record in 1938 was not a record at all. I have not the time to correct this now, but I leave it here: https://cycologies.com/1483/alfonsina-strada-and-the-hour-record/
PS: I contributed to Wikipedia many years ago, now my login doesn't work anymore and I am in the process of reegaining it... ~2026-44161-52 (talk) 08:24, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
