Etymology

Is there any evidence for the alternative etymology listed on this page? The word αλέξω being part of the etymology doesn't seem to make much sense here. Skoulikomirmigotripa (talk) 00:41, 1 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

it looks like the αλέξω claim was reverted at some point and then reinstated in late 2024. the unsourced claim conflicts with the following sentence (comparing to dyslexia where lex refers to reading). as that statement does have a dictionary source for the eytmology, i have reverted the αλέξω claim.
