Conflict-of-interest disclosure

[edit]

I am Alexander Moutchnik, the subject of this article, and I edit Wikipedia under the account User: Cauua197. I am disclosing this connection in accordance with the conflict-of-interest guideline.

I intend to use this talk page for substantive corrections and updates rather than editing the biographical content about myself directly. My aim is to correct outdated information, improve sourcing, and address the existing BLP sourcing concerns with the help of uninvolved editors.

Thank you. Cauua197 (talk) 12:56, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to correct short description

[edit]

I would like to request a correction to the article's short description.

Current: "Soviet professor (born 1976)"

Suggested: "Media economist and professor (born 1976)"

The current wording is misleading because it describes Moutchnik as a Soviet professor, although his professorship began in Germany in 2013.

Source: RheinMain University of Applied Sciences states that Moutchnik has been Professor of Media Business and Media Economics since October 2013.

This is intended only as a factual correction to the short description.

Request to revise and source Education section

[edit]

I would like to request a concise revision of the Education section. The current section contains extensive details about thesis titles and reviewers, while several of these statements are not adequately supported by the cited sources.

I suggest replacing the current Education section with the following:

From 1993 to 1997, Moutchnik studied history, sociology and political science at the State Pedagogical University in Saint Petersburg. Between 1995 and 1997, he also studied history at the Collège Universitaire Français de Saint-Pétersbourg, where he received a Diplôme d'Études et de Recherche. At Heidelberg University, he studied economics from 1997 to 2001 and medieval, modern and Eastern European history from 1997 to 2002. He completed doctorates at Heidelberg University in modern history (Dr. phil.) in 2005 and business administration (Dr. rer. pol.) in 2007.

Sources:

This revision would retain the relevant educational information while removing unnecessarily detailed and insufficiently sourced material. Cauua197 (talk) 14:42, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to revise and source Professional activities section

[edit]

I would like to request a concise revision of the Professional activities section. The existing information is broadly correct, but the wording is dated and can now be supported by a current institutional source.

I suggest replacing the current section text with:

From 2004 to 2008, Moutchnik was a research associate at the Chair of Business Administration at Heidelberg University. From 2008 to 2013, he headed the Media and Communication Management degree program at Mediadesign Hochschule in Munich. Since October 2013, he has been Professor of Media Business and Media Economics in the Department of Design, Computer Science and Media at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden.

Source:

This revision does not add new positions; it updates the wording and provides a current source for the existing career information. Cauua197 (talk) 14:43, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to remove Projects subsection

[edit]

I would like to request removal of the subsection "Projects at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden".

The subsection currently lists three individual university projects from 2014 to 2020. These appear to be examples of teaching or project activities rather than biographically significant information, and one of the three entries is unsourced.

I suggest removing the entire subsection, including the three bullet points:

  • 2019/20: Encyclopedia of Internet Phenomena
  • 2019: Highlights from the history of the Hessian State Archive on YouTube
  • 2014/16: Branding of historical heritage (State Palaces, Gardens and State Museums) of Hesse

This would make the biography more concise and reduce minor or insufficiently sourced CV-style material. Cauua197 (talk) 14:45, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request to update and source Other commitments section

[edit]

I would like to request an update of the "Other commitments" section. Several statements in the current text are outdated.

I suggest replacing the current section with:

Since 2023, Moutchnik has served as chair of the electoral board for the Senate and faculty council elections at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. He previously headed the master's degree program Media & Design Management from 2014 to 2018. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Business, published by Springer Nature, and a member of the board of the Presseclub Wiesbaden.

Sources:

The existing reference to the "International Journal of Corporate Social Responsibility" is outdated; Springer Nature currently lists Moutchnik as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Sustainable Business. I also suggest removing the reference to the "Sustainability Management Forum", as I have not found a current source supporting an ongoing editorial-board position there.

This request updates existing biographical information rather than adding a list of further appointments. Cauua197 (talk) 14:48, 29 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
