That information should be pinned down better — from whom? when? — before another editor shows up and zaps it. Even then, officially, it would not pass muster.
It would be much much much better if it came out of an official website.

TV and Radio Scripts

The article is a bit vague about his supposed break with the left. He apparently became disillusioned after speaking to veterans of the Spanish Civil War, but he remained involved in the CPGB during WW2, and even after the war he was involved with Tribune and the Unity Theatre?
