I cannot find any modern book which calls him Leopardo. It is always Leopardi. Lorenzetti (Venice and its Lagoon), Molmenti (La Storia di Veneta nella Vita privata),Otto Demus (The Church of San Marco in Venice), Alta Macadam (Blue Guide), Hugh Honour (Companion Guide) and Civilta di Venezia all say Leopardi without even mentioning an alternative spelling. Does anyone have a reference for Leopardo?

In the absence of any strong disagreement I would propose to rename the article with a redirect from Leopardo.

Also, I do not know where the date of birth (1466) came from. I understand that his birth date is unknown. Lorenzetti merely says that he is first heard of in 1482. Any comments?

As to his death, Lorenzetti says 1522/23 and Hugh Honour says 1522 (though that may be taken from Lorenzetti). I have not seen the date in the article anywhere else.

I am proposing to expand the article but wanted to raise these points first.

I have made a start on revising the article, but have left the name as it is to see if there is any response to the note above. John Pope-Hennessy also calls him Leopardi with no alternative name.
