How is this "Islamic art"?

[edit]

Why is it in the category 'Islamic art' when the images and article makes it clear it was owned by a Christian and features Christian imagery? This is the most incredible and egregious case of cultural appropriation imaginable. Make it make sense. 2404:4408:6A7E:1F00:87F6:4E56:4655:F849 (talk) 05:24, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

As Islamic art will tell you, the normal definition of the subject covers art produced in Islamic areas and styles, regardless of the religion of the makers or owners, which we usually don't know for sure anyway. Though the painted panels are mostly of Christian subjects, the style is thoroughly Islamic. Johnbod (talk) 12:25, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
