Robles is Carson's first Latino mayor. Vera DeWitt was the first Latina Mayor. Moreover wheen Vera became Mayor the positon was a rotated council position. Since that time Carson Mayor has become an eleected position. Albert Robles was elected by the voters. Making him the first elected Latino Mayor he is also the first elected homegrown council member and mayor also. [1]
