Him?

[edit]

Might be the death notice of this person (A. L. Themans), but we can't be sure: https://www.delpher.nl/nl/kranten/view?identifier=KBNRC01:000057289:mpeg21:p010&coll=ddd . SportsOlympic (talk) 16:13, 15 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

SportsOlympic, not him. He is mentioned in this death notice after his mother died. The mother was from Dalfsen, explaining why this family from Amsterdam put a message in a Zwolle-based newspaper. Interestingly, the Dalfsen Jewish community held services at the home of Jacob Salomon Themans, until a synagogue was opened in 1866. gidonb (talk)
The father had lived in Zwolle. That is probably how the parents met. It was his second marriage. The father widowed from the first and second wives. His third wife outlived him and was murdered in Sobibor. That is already too indirectly related to the son to have in the article. I think we're good now! gidonb (talk) 03:00, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
The in-laws of the brother were also murdered in The Holocaust. gidonb (talk) 15:38, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Added some information about the history around the Holocaust and, now that I did, it made sense to add the above as well. gidonb (talk) 15:09, 20 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
