Was it actually called the Alaska State Fair even in territorial days aspirationally, as this article seemingly indicates, or has the name been retrospectively applied and it was actually the Alaska Territorial Fzir, as seems more likely. 2600:1004:B1C9:F575:610D:8234:5F72:42DE (talk) 20:13, 11 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm pretty sure it was called the Matanuska Valley Fair or similar prior to statehood. Chronicling America has a bunch of old Palmer newspapers, including the early years of The Frontiersman, so it's not that hard to look up. A hit appeared out of nowhere while searching for something else. The Valley Fair Association approved reincorporating as the Alaska State Fair, Inc. on December 29, 1958 (see here). RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 20:44, 19 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
