The Mall link

I'm confused as to why "The Mall" link text links to DC... isn't that the wrong way 'round? Or at any rate, it'd be a good idea to make it more transparent why the given text links to the given article... Alai 05:12, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

SUA - really?

Is there really SUA over Manhattan and Hollywood? I don't have the relevant charts but I checked online and couldn't see any. There may be TFRs popping up in those places, but a TFR isn't a SUA. Other well-known examples of P are Crawford and Kennebunkport. There are plenty of R's and MOAs around well-known installations, particularly military - can't we use those as an example? I corrected the SUA definition but qualified my description as being just for the US - can someone who knows other jurisdictions can retouch as appropriate. The AIM also recognizes "Other Airspace Areas" - if we go an and talk about those, it needs to be made more clear that all SUA and OAA is also either Controlled or Uncontrolled. I think that the big problem was that there are really only two top level types of airspace: controlled or uncontrolled. Prohibited Areas, Restricted Areas and all manner of other SUA is a different concept to this. I've changed the article to reflect this, removing the definition of SUA (which is almost and article in its own right) and removed some assertions based on the US way of doing things that are incorrect from an international perspective.BaseTurnComplete 14:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Does anyone know the vertical limit of airspace? I.e how high do satellites need to be to avoid a violation of airspace?

Good question. I think the Karman line is what everyone just "goes with" and nobody makes a fuss about it, but there's no international agreement I can find. Could make things interesting in the future. FireLordAang (talk) 05:13, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation needed

Hi,

I added important information about the different airspace. My source is the FAA, in other words U.S. regulations. Although most countries use the same airspace rules and types I find it necessary to, somehow, disambiguate the topic stating something like: "the following airspace designation and rules are from the U.S. However, most countries have adapted this nomenclature making it somewhat universal".

Restructure and merge
