TV station aircheck retention

[edit]

I do not have a citation; I only have my own experience working at four different U.S. television stations over the last 30 years. In the article, there is an assertion, "Stations generally retain airchecks for one year." I dispute this claim. No station I've ever worked at archived airchecks for a year. The most I've ever seen in practice is several weeks worth. While I imagine they would have liked to, the expense of archiving an entire year of 24/7 video makes it infeasible even for major market stations with greater resources. I see this sentence is flagged with a "citation needed." I would argue that this sentence should be removed until a citation can be given. 67.188.128.95 (talk) 22:51, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
