Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 17 May 2026
[edit]Please change the image in the "Ahir/Aheer" section from the current colonial-era portrait to a more neutral and respectful representative image of the Ahir community.
Replace: File:The People of India 1868 Aheer.jpg
With: File:Gujarati Ahir.jpg
Reason: The current image is an old colonial-era ethnographic portrait of a single individual that may not accurately represent the broader Ahir/Aheer community in a modern encyclopedic context. The proposed replacement, File:Gujarati Ahir.jpg, is already available on Wikimedia Commons under a free license and provides a clearer, more culturally representative, and community-oriented depiction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Specofic (talk • contribs) 14:15, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- This is a good photograph, and group pictures are preferable over photographs of an individual. However the one issue that I see is the caption is "ભાટિયા આહીર સંમેલન" which means "Bhatiya Ahir Meeting". This means that the photograph may not only be of Ahirs but also some Bhatiyas may be present. Additionally, it is unclear when the photograph was taken as the caption states 1950 but on Wikimedia Commons the uploader claims it is from 1934. Chariotrider555 (talk) 23:21, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Ok take any photo from this which you consider correct, in this there are many images related to Yadav/Ahirs
