Move/rescope/ATD
[edit]Hi. Per the recent tag, I don't see how this private house meets WP:NBUILDING. (It isn't a protected structure and hasn't been the subject of significant/independent coverage in its own right. What coverage I can find are passing mentions which mostly deal with it as the residence of Carton de Wiart and Sutherland.)
As an alternative to deletion, however, what I suggest is that this title be moved to Aghinagh (retaining the credit/attribution/history of the content) and the page rescoped to include the parish(es) within which the house stands. And from which the house gets is name.
I propose this as, while the house is not independently notable, the parish/area (which gives it its name) does meet WP:GEOLAND. Including:
- Aghinagh civil parish (and ED(?))
- Aghinagh RC parish (and Aghinagh GAA club)
- Aghinagh COI parish (and Aghinagh COI church/graveyard)
- etc.
The expanded title could cover the geographic topic (the parish/parishes - similar to other Category:Civil parishes of County Cork), with the house covered WP:WITHIN a sub-section, and its notable residents covered in the usual "notable people" common to GEO titles.
(I'd done something similar, not so long ago, to expand and rename/rescope the title on Athnanangle Bridge to cover the Dripsey River as a whole. Same goes for Glashagarriff Bridge -> Glashagarriff River.)
Other thoughts before I do this? In all honesty, the only other option I can consider is the AfD route (as I really don't see how this family home otherwise has notability independent of the people who lived there and the churchyard/parish/etc with which it's associated...) Resolved. Done (Moved and expanded and redirect retained). As proposed above. And for the reasons noted above.Guliolopez (talk) 10:45, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
