Sourcing

[edit]

This material has again been removed by me. Please read WP:RS and WP:V. As far as caste articles go, everything needs to be sourced and those sources should be modern academic works etc, not stuff from the British Raj era, from people who are not independent of the caste, and from ancient primary sources. It really is not negotiable because there is a long-standing consensus about these matters. - Sitush (talk) 15:12, 9 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

@WarriorX9: We do not use Jatland.com and British Era sources in our articles. First is a user generated Wiki which is considered unreliable and was blacklisted in the past. Secondly, the British Era sources (pre-1947 and later sources copied from it) are considered unreliable per WP:RAJ. We only use WP:HISTRS compliant WP:Independent reliable sources, that is no source coming from caste specific organisations. Also discuss in this talk page, before making large scale changes especially if your edits got reverted per WP:BRD. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:46, 4 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Lack of information in the page

[edit]

Fylindfotberserk (talk) I wanna request you to add more information to the page. Krmehra (talk) 10:43, 5 March 2025 (UTC).I have added their classification I request you to add their.Religion and other all in an info box.Reply

@Krmehra: It would require reliable sources. If you find any, post it here for discussion. Also you have only added for Odisha, I'll keep it tagged for other states. Are you User:WarriorX9? If yes, then you should stick to one account (WarriorX9 preferably). Editing from both accounts will be considered sockpuppetry, and might get you blocked. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:22, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I am Warrior9X I am not trying to defend or do anything actually yesterday I lost my gmail as it was a dummy email.I am no longer able to access that account. This is new account made from my main gmail.I am myself an Agharia and I always wanted to complete this wikipedia page.I have learned html abit to do so.I wanna request you to gather information and help me with this project. If you are able please access The People Of Orrisa (pts. 2) It contains alot of information but I am unable to access it. Krmehra (talk) 14:21, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
That's fine if you've lost access to your account. I try to find good sources. In the meantime, if you come across WP:HISTRS WP:independent, source do post here. We can discuss them further. Are you referring to this book? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:12, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Yes I have added more information please check. Krmehra (talk) 15:21, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sir,If possible please try to get more information and add images.from the book(of the pages) .Also please add a infobox of nationality, region, religion and other all.Krmehra (talk) 15:23, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Krmehra: People of India edited K S Singh is not considered reliable either. See this, since heavy reliance on British-era ethnographies. I'd suggest we discuss the sources here first. Also would recommend you search it in Google Scholar for better sources. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:30, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sir,We can relly on that book for the origins and position as they were in use in the past. The origin is still in use by the community according to their official site.Krmehra (talk) 15:32, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
There is a alot of misinformation regarding the caste but I have read many articles and this book is mostly correct regarding origins and other all.Thank you. Krmehra (talk) 15:35, 5 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

The page is fully destroyed, user @PeaceProf: has removed major information and has tried to create a negative image of the caste. I sincerely ask a request to revert this whole page to the last user version as it's more appropriate and correct and also ban @PeaceProf: from editing he already has several warning for wrong editing.
