[edit]The following text comes from the stageplays.com synopsis which originally appeared in the article:
- "After the triumphs of Aida and the Requiem in the early 1870s, the composer Verdi has retired to the country. His two friends, Ricordi the publisher and Faccio the conductor, convinced that Verdi should write another opera, finally manage to persuade him to collaborate with the young librettist Arrigo Boito on a new work, Otello"
I took some time to flesh this out a bit and re-wrote it in order to remove this obvious copywright violation. Editor User talk:Softlavender has chosen to revert to the original wording. Comments please. Viva-Verdi (talk) 04:19, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
- Please re-read the text in the article. It was not reverted to the original. It was tightened up and made to reflect the play more accurately. Softlavender (talk) 04:04, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
