I'm reverting the changes made by Kimse. As "Standard Azerbaijani" may be interpreted as either Iranian or Azerbaijan Azerbaijani, I don't think it's appropriate to use Latin script. Plus, IPA is universal, Turkic notation is not. Straughn17:20, 5 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Afshar is a clan of the Oghuz Turks, they speak Oghuz Turkish and have no trouble communicating with Turkish speakers in Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey etc at most its a dialect. Why every dialect, even accent of Turkish language is treated as a separete language? Turkish, Azeri, Uzbeki, Kazakh, etc. etc. languages. Every separete country or federal region has a separete language. I don't see a similar separation for Arabic, Spanish or English languages that are also spoken in different countries. Where are American language, Canadian language, British language, Australian language, Syrian language, Jordanian language, Saudi language,Kuwaiti language, Iraqi language, Brazilian language, Mexican Language, Argentinian language, Puerto Rican language etc. articles? Only Turkish(or Turkic or whatever I don't understand this -ic, -ish difference also) language gets this treatment: slashed and chopped to tiny pieces! How can they be different languages when I, a Turk from Turkey can and do understand and talk to a Uyghur with minimum effort? All for to create an artificial separation from joint Turk identity. Is the Afshar dialect in Iran and Turkey and Syria the same?

The sources only refer to that spoken in Iran, and I believe there will definitely be quite a bit of difference between the dialects spoken by Turkish, Syrian, and Iranian people from the Afshar tribe.
