2026 train crash

Is it correct to say that TWO trains derailed? My reading of the BBC article on the crash is that the high-speed train derailed and crashed into the other train, which was oncoming and on its tracks at the time of impact. (I suppose the crash derailed at least the front cars of the victim train, but that is somewhat beside the point.) Thus, I ask for a re-wording of the accident's description.
