Use of 'Philanthropist' in Lede
[edit]Consensus has never been established to include the term 'philanthropist' in the lede (see previous discussions here and here). I'll remind @Alansohn and @Metallurgist to use the talk page instead of replacing disputed content and edit warring. Let's engage in good faith. 81567518 W 11:42, 18 June 2026 (UTC)

- Thanks, I think that's a good start.
- I've looked through all mentions of Milstein I can find in RS, 26 articles total (I'm sure there are a number missing here but this should be a good sample at the very least.) Here they are:
- , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
- We have 14 articles from Jewish Telegraphic Agency, two from The Forward, four from The Intercept, three from Arutz Sheva, two from the Times of Israel, and one from The Nation. That's six separate, quite distinct sources.
- In these sources, there are ~20 fundamentally different descriptors used, listed here in order of number of uses: "chairman of the Israeli-American Council" (9), "pro-Israel donor" (9), "pro-Israel funder" (4), "real estate developer" (3), "real estate investor" (3), "right-wing donor" (2), "pro-Israel philanthropist" (2), "philanthropist" (2), "real estate millionaire" (2), and then eight one-off descriptors that either use the word donor or reference his IAC involvement, but none that use the word philanthropist.
- Based on that I'd propose "Adam Milstein is an Israeli and American pro-Israel donor and the chairman of the Israeli-American Council (IAC). He is also a real estate inevestor at Hager Pacific Properties."
- In the meantime, I haven't heard any argument to include philanthropist in the lede so will remove that until we have consensus here. Please let me know your thoughts. 81567518 W 17:59, 11 July 2026 (UTC)
- You literally agreed to it here, so there is consensus. Now you keep trying to ram a preferred version on numerous aspects and then go forum shopping for third party input, which always disagrees with you. How can you say to engage in good faith while accusing others of edit warring, and being previously blocked for edit warring yourself? ← Metallurgist (talk) 20:15, 19 June 2026 (UTC)
