This is misleading in the article. The active loading technique is not specific to the AC component of the input signal. The common-emitter amplifier's DC gain is also larger thanks to the active load. The active load looks like a high load resistance, not merely a high impedance. Remember what operational amplifiers fundamentally do, and that integrated circuit op amps use active loading! In fact, if anything, there may be less gain for AC of increasing frequencies due to some unwanted capacitance through the active load, giving it a lower impedance.192.139.122.42 (talk) 00:57, 18 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
