Strange RNA expression for CCKAR
[edit]The source for the cholecystokinin receptor in acinar cells just called it the cholecystokinin receptor. That should mean CCKAR, since CCKBR is usually referred to as the gastrin receptor, and gastrin activating pancreatic secretion as strongly as CCK would contradict other parts of the source. Sure enough, when I check the gene and protein pages for CCKAR, they all say that it’s involved in exocrine pancreatic secretion.
However, I wanted to check the protein expression, and strangely it does not show RNA expression for CCKAR in the pancreas (https://www.proteinatlas.org/ENSG00000163394-CCKAR/tissue). I assume this is due to some kind of error with the methodology, since even that source says that it’s involved in pancreatic exocrine secretion. Maybe there’s an alternative splicing that hasn’t be included in the database yet (proteinatlas only mentions one known transcript).
