Not sure actually if Simonetti wrote the text only, or wrote the music and then Pietro Floridia wrote an alternate melody-line to a the text that Simonetti provided for the work (which seems to be for voice, violin and piano- or? maybe the text is meant to be read as an epigraph?... ) - confusing. RISM suggests that Simonetti did in fact write the music, so my initial guess from what was written here and there was quite mistaken (as opposed to the merely "wrong", of course. :D ) Schissel | Sound the Note! 14:21, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
