Notability, citations

[edit]

Hello, regarding the notability and refimprove tags added to the page earlier this month:

1) I do believe that this article should exist. This is partly a matter of notability: Abu Atiya was the focus of allegations made in one of the most geopolitically important speeches this century, and allegations or other material concerning his story have been published by a variety of reputable sources including the WSJ, Human Rights Watch, Le Figaro (France) and Cicero magazine (Germany). I'd also say that this biographical material would otherwise need to be included on other pages, notably including Pankisi Gorge crisis, in which allegations against Abu Atiya played a central role. Adding the relevant material to that page would lead to that article being overlong, and hence create the case for the material to be split off and placed in its own article once more.

2) Regarding citations, I believe the present material either has citations or is uncontroversial due to being cited in a linked, more specialist article. I'm keen to make up any shortfall, but please indicate where additional citations are needed inline, or by commenting here. Thanks. Sonnyvalentino (talk) 10:40, 29 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
