Major revision necessary
[edit]Whoever wrote that entry either did not read the novel or did not understand it. The Hubbards' marriage was never loving and readers are led to understand very early on that it is doomed to fail. Bartley never loved Marcia; he was merely (at most) fond of her, and said so explicitly before leaving her.
