Applications Technology Satellite

Manufacturer of ATS-6
[edit]I believe that the Customer (NASA) knows better which company has built the spacecraft : Fairchild. No mention of Ford Aerospace anywhere.The previously quoted source citing Ford is not confirmed anywhere else, to my knowledge. By the way, when ATS-6 was built and launched, Ford Aerospace did not exist (yet), it was Philco-Ford and later on Ford Aeronutronics. Smteacsm1 (talk) 22:41, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
ATS-F & ATS-G
[edit]I've located some documentation on the NTRS which relates to the early planning for this mission which reveals that two identical spacecraft were going to be built then launched. I've not yet found anything confirming that they were both supposed to be in orbit at the same time.Graham1973 (talk) 15:50, 30 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, during the early stages of the project, two spacecraft were planned, but the second one was dropped due to budget constraints in 1973 (and the whole program was nearly scraped, being placed on hold at several instances) Smteacsm1 (talk) 20:01, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
