Singularly uninformative

Right now this stub consists of a single statement:
AP20187 is a ligand that can induce homodimerization of fusion proteins containing the DmrB domain.
What does that mean? Would I have to be, say, a molecular geneticist to even have a clue?
This is so singularly uninformative that one wonders why the author even bothered creating the page. There's not the slightest indication of whether or why its abilities are useful, desirable–or contrarily, malicious.
I arrived here having googled "AP20187", after reading a news release from the Mayo Clinic about how clearing senescent cells in mice leads to prolongation of life and improvement of organ tissues e.g. in the kidney. So naturally I wondered whether there was some information–e.g. on Wikipedia–that might help explain what the "compound" was doing. Sigh! yoyo (talk) 01:10, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
