[edit]The communication link that this part of division is incorrectly linked to the fundamentals of communications. In construction communications refers the the communications infrastructure that is set within then building. Primarily it starts with the copper cabling that is run from the telephone outlet to a main closet usually called an IT closet. Here the copper cable is terminated on a patch panel or for traditional telephone system a punch down block. Computer connection are ran in a similar manner. This if often refered to structured cabling, Some system will include fiber as part of the communications system.
Also part of communications are Public Address systems, Audio Video systems, Nurse call, Cable television Institution detection or burglar alarm, Wifi, Distributed Antenna System (DAS) & Two-way radio, Real time locating systems (RTLS), Wander Guard Management, Infant Theft detection systems.
