Honorius closing the Flavian Amphitheatre in 405?
[edit]I'm trying to find authoritative corroboration of this. If he did do it, it didn't stay closed for long. In either case, the self-published work of a political activist with a background in religious studies and philosophy is not a suitable reference. Dppowell 04:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Found it. Honorius did not close the Colosseum; he abolished gladiator combat. Other events continued. Dppowell 04:45, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Oookay. He closed the gladiator schools in 399, and abolished gladiator combat in the Colosseum in 405. Colosseum remained open at all times. Fixing entry. Dppowell 03:58, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
