Scanline-interleaving not introduced with Voodoo2

This article, as well as "Scan-Line_Interleave" states that the technology was introduced with the Voodoo2. However the Voodoo graphics chipset already supported it, and Quantum3D produced and sold graphics cards to consumers in the form of the Obsidian 50SB and 100SB cards. The 50SB was basically an expandable Voodoo Graphics card, including an SLI cable. While the 100SB integrated everything on a single board and could even include a 2D module with the same chip of the Voodoo Rush. The 100SB variant can be seen in a review of tomshardware of the time. Given that 3dfx was not a board manufacturer but a chipset provider at this time, I consider the release of this board and the Voodoo Graphics chipset as a valid introduction of SLI.

Other arcade systems

It'd be interesting to list all the Voodoo-powered arcade systems. In particular, Konami's 2000 Viper board, based on a PowerPC and a custom Voodoo3. Given the timing and similar specs, there is speculation (grain of salt obligatory) that the Viper is the Sega Blackbelt. ~2025-33390-20 (talk) 08:33, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
