WD8 and WD9

[edit]

Both the Polish skaters did not withdraw for the 10k. They were not qualified. Only 8 skaters are qualified and qualification depends on both the ranking after three distances, as well as the ranking at the 5k. Due to his second place on the 5k Douwe de Vries was qualified over both Polish skaters ahead of him in the qualification after three distances. I corrected the error in the table. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.120.181.129 (talk) 16:04, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Something similar holds true for the qualification for the 1500 meters (regarding Vitaly Mikhailov and Nils van der Poel) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.120.181.129 (talk) 16:07, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Do you have a source for this? It doesn't follow the rules described. HandsomeFella (talk) 16:09, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

The rules described are not the actual rules for the EC and WC allround in speedskating. The actual rules can be found at http://static.isu.org/media/79159/2012_specialregulations_technicalrules_speedskating_shorttrackspeedskating.pdf For the relevant rules see Rule 240, articles 4 and 5. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.120.181.129 (talk) 16:32, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

The same also holds true for the qualification for the ladies (that is for Dmitriyeva and Bachleda-Curuś, who were not qualifed, Shikhova actually was qualified and did withdraw, so I left that bit unedited). BTW sorry for my bad etiquette, I'm not really a frequent editor, so didn't know I had to sign. Hopefully I did better this time. 137.120.181.129 (talk) 16:41, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

You're doing very well, and thanks for the source. Ever considered joining the force of editors? Your contributions would be most welcome. HandsomeFella (talk) 19:49, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
