Clarifying the definition
[edit]It's really helpful that this page has an 'elementary' definition of a 2-category, meaning one that doesn't require knowledge of enriched categories. It's quite reasonable that someone (i.e. me) might want to learn about 2-categories before learning about enrichment, so it's great that this article tries to make that possible.
However, I found I wasn't able to follow the last part of the definition - the text is just a little too condensed there. If someone has the expertise it would be really great to expand it slightly, so that each condition is spelt out formally and explicitly. I put a couple of [clarification needed] tags to indicate where it gets tricky.

Merge bicategory into this article
[edit]I propose we merge bicategory into his article as well as rename it to 2-category. Reason: I don’t think we should have separate articles. Although there are differences in definitions, they are more of variants not of essential ones. —- Taku (talk) 07:48, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
