First race aired by the BBC?

[edit]

This was the first race the BBC ever aired? I remember watching many F1 races on the BBC from the early seventies and they may well have televised others before my time. Perhaps it was the first non-European race the BBC aired? Memory fades at thirty years distance, so I can't remember precisely which races were televised, and whether previous US, South African, or South American races were, but live televised races there certainly were - and on the BBC as well. This comment should either be clarified or removed altogether.

This page suggests that the BBC had previously aired the British and Monaco GPs. I couldn't find any references supporting the statement that this was the first race aired by the BBC, so I've removed it. DH85868993 (talk) 08:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fastest lap

[edit]

There is a discussion in progress regarding which driver should be credited with fastest lap at this race. Interested editors are invited to participate in the discussion. DH85868993 (talk) 06:25, 15 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
