I have made some year layout proposals which would affect a significant proportion of the year pages: an example of proposed style is 1850. It is detailed on my talk page.

To whomever removed my reference to the first Breslov pilgrimage to Uman, Ukraine (in September -- do not know exact common date, the Jewish calendar is different): This is a major event in Hasidic Jewish history. The pilgrimage continues to this day. Over 10,000 people went last year. It is as important in the Hasidic world as Lourdes is in the Catholic world. So I think it should be here. rooster613

On X-mas eve, December 24., 1811, the two English warships, St. George and Defence were shipwrecked in very bad weather on the sandbanks outside the town of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland. 1.391 crew lost their lives with only 18 survivors. This catastrophe - comparable in loss of lives to Titanic - that took place almost within reach of the coast, made a tremendous impression in Denmark (despite the fact that admiral Nelson had destroyed the Danish fleet only 10 years before!) and influenced heavily on the decision to establish rescue stations on the coast of Jutland. Maybe this should be researched a bit and comments added to the year. --Sir48 04:19, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
