Treaty of Nerchinsk
[edit]The "on this day" says that the Treaty of Nerchinsk established the Russia-China border almost as it exists today. Thats nonsense. Under that treaty, Russia relinquished the area north of the Amur to chinese control, and did not regain it until 170 years later.
