Possible Colors For Eleva and Humbird
[edit]1978 article on Humbird's all class reunion, with tables decorated with streamers of orange and black: https://www.wiclarkcountyhistory.org/7data/148/148643.htm
2 articles on a parade in NW Wisconsin referenced Eleva band wearing purple and white (from 1934 and 1936, respectively):

Caveating the last two articles, as sometimes school sports and bands did differentiate color uniforms (Stanley, Withee, Owen, Colfax all examples). That said, I'd say most of these align to the school colors at the time. (Hixton wore black and orange before switching to maroon/gold, and Cornell was purple/gold originally.) - Following up to confirm Humbird and Eleva are good.
- For Humbird, I found an article from November 24,1943, referencing Humbird's Orange and Black losing to the Merrillan Yellow Jackets (Black River Falls Banner Journal): https://wna-bbe4.newsmemory.com/eebrowser/bbe/check.27800.html5/public/freesearchtest/search/index/type/badgerarchive/badger/427d49844052b17b3108bc9a7d0adce2
- Eleva did in fact wear purple and white, per the 1947 Mondovi Herald-News article in the picture from this post: https://www.facebook.com/MondoviAreaHistoricalSociety/posts/pfbid0w47kwo6uYYJTdgpoqRVM9muKaAxhoWNSgzzrAQa94pAj8XYjsfYzgSc8cXqdfeqzl. The article itself references a team keeping up with "the excellent purple and white" in the championship of the Mondovi district that year. Further research showed Eleva beat Maiden Rock (green/gold). Eleva is the purple and white. Badgeractuary (talk) 19:17, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
