URLs and accented letters
[edit]The article says that accented letters are invalid in URLs. Does that refer to the country code or the whole. I don't think it's invalid, see http://síminn.is. --Stefán Örvarr Sigmundsson 13:59, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
ISNIC supports IDN domains (International Domain Names) which are encoded in PUNYCODE. You can use all of the Icelandic characters. Actually, any IDN domain name will be ASCII only in the domain name system and it's up to the application (web browser, e-mail application) to handle the conversion. Mapping the Mal Web
[edit]I removed the years 2009 and 2010 from where it says .is is in the top 10 safest TLDs. The source used only states 2007 and 2008. I found a copy of what appears to be the 2009 McAfee report, and .is is a little lower than the top 10 globally. Clarinetguy097 (talk) 17:02, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
